Bonnie has a way of meeting people and recruiting them. I should know.

This voyage hasn't been any different.

Recently at a dinner organized for the 52 of us going Cape Town-to-Tokyo, she sat next to Dene, a woman from Calgary. They chatted through two courses with Bonnie secretly admiring the woman's fabulous facial skin that looked like it never met a plastic surgeon's needle or knife. Bonnie labeled her "the most attractive person on the entire cruise." Then Bonnie found out Dene had a 12-year-old great grandchild. She did the math and figured out Dene had to be at least 85 and here she is on a cruise for 64 days looking sensational. "She's my new role model," proclaimed the Bon-Bon.

The very next day we were on an excursion to Taroko Gorge on Taiwan walking a path on the side of canyon. I hiked quickly up the trail to get you guys photos (already posted) and video (coming in April). Bonnie went slower and stopped several times at bench areas to meditate.

At one stop, she was given a warm greeting by a Taiwanese woman named Shufang Wang, who lives nearby and makes a Taroko hike and mediation a monthly custom. She introduced a friend from the UK, who works for a global charity that collects and distributes breastmilk to impoverished children.

The friend said Shufang also works in women's healthcare. "So do I," said Bonnie and to Shufang, "What do you do?"

"Gender equity in Taiwan," Shufang answered.

What are the odds that on an isolated hiking trail on a small island in Taiwan, Bonnie would meet her occupational doppelganger?
